Frequently Asked Questions
What is a home inspection?
A home inspection is an objective, visual examination of the structure and systems of the home.
What is included in the inspection?
You will be given an unbiased inspection because I cannot perform repairs in accordance to the ASHI® code of ethics and the state licensing regulations. If deficiencies are found, I will recommend which professional you need to have repairs performed or further evaluated. You will receive a computer-generated report with digital photos documenting deficiencies, condition, and age of the major components of the home. Also included is a summary report with a cost to cure.
How much will it cost?
I base my prices on the square footage and age of the home. You can request a price quote by calling me at 804-921-8367.
How long does the inspection take?
The average size home will take 2 - 3 hours.
Do I need to attend?
No, but I highly recommend that you are there so when I complete the inspection I can answer any questions and address any concerns. With the time it takes for the inspection this will give you a chance to take a closer look at the home. I want you to be involved!
When will I get the report?
After I complete the inspection.
What type of report do you use?
My report is computer generated using Homegauge® software. I
have personally customized the report to look and feel very easy to read and understand. I print the report and will send an electronic copy on site. I take my time and go over all comments that are in the
report and answer all questions.
